The Department of Chemistry aims to be the best provider of chemical education within the Kolhapur district in Maharashtra and to be a leader in research, publications and scholastic excellence. We are committed to providing a stimulating learning environment for our students, courses that are relevant and an experience that is world-class whether judged by local or international standards
Objectives
- To develop curiosity and interest in chemistry
- To acquire an appropriate body of knowledge and understanding in chemistry
- To acquire an ability to think rationally and critically, and to apply the knowledge of chemistry in making judgements and solving problems
- To develop skills in scientific investigations
- To recognise the evolutionary and sometimes transitory nature of chemical knowledge;
- To acquainted with the language of chemistry and be equipped with the skills in communicating ideas in chemistry related contexts
- To develop an appreciation of chemistry and its applications in daily life;
- Become aware of the social, economic, environmental and technological implications of chemistry, and show concern for the environment and society
- To develop open-mindedness, objectivity and proactiveness
