1. History of Department: Established 2011
The department of psychology was established in the year 1964 under the headship of Prof. D. S. Chougule. At the beginning first and second-year classes of UG courses were offered by the college. In 2011, B.A. in Psychology course was fully started.
At present, Smt. V.V. Chougule is the head of the department. The department is organizing guest lectures, study visits, workshops on various subjects. Department also runs a counselling cell for a college student which provide psychological services like psychological assessment and personal counselling
Objectives:
- To introduce the major concepts, theoretical perspectives and historical trends in Psychology.
- To develop a research approach and think critically about psychological issues.
- To apply psychological knowledge to face day to day problems in their lives.
- To help students to develop professional competence and career-oriented abilities in their concerned fields.
- To provide community services by providing psychometric assessment, counselling and awareness programmes.
