History of Department

Department has established in the year 1993. The pioneers of this department are Mr. M. D. Patil, Dr. S. A. Manjare, V. A. Mankapure, and Mr. A. G. Mankapure. Initially, the department has started with 12 students. Year by year the number of student strengths increased. A total of 3 MRP were completed by this department. The number of publications is also notable. The department is spacious with well-equipped laboratories. The attractive key of the department is its museum.

Future Plans

• To start M. Sc. Zoology (Specialization Environmental Science).
• Reorganization of Research Laboratory.
• Certificate course in AGPM.
• To Apply for the various project grants
• To Publish more research articles

Envisions to inculcate the highest values of life, science education, respect for nature, and concern for ethical values among students through good and scientific-educational practices. 

• Provide inexpensive educational services, inspire all the section of society to get expertise /skills at P.G. and above level in biological sciences.

• To develop research aptitude and scientific advancement.

• To bring about an awareness regarding nature and biodiversity and help to solve different problems to establish a sound and peaceful environment and life for the community and society.

• Reinvent ourselves in response to the changing demands of society with high moral values as a good citizen.

• To make students with responsibilities towards society and achieve relevance of their studies for the betterment of mankind.

• To impart knowledge and skills in zoological science.
